| Travel Basketball |

St. Joseph’s CYO Travel Basketball Program is established to offer a basketball option for the advanced player. This program is more intense and competitive than our intramural program and requires practices in order to prepare for scheduled games. Our travel tryouts are open to all players and returning players from the previous travel teams must tryout since each players abilities change over time. The travel basketball program is a compliment to our intramural program and is not intended to erode the integrity or quality of it. In order to be eligible to participate in the travel program, each player must have participated in the intramural program in the previous year or a member of our parish. It is a requirement of our program that all 5th and 6th grader travel players participate in our intramural program. If it deemed that a team in the travel program has a material adverse affect to our program, the CYO board will review the continuation of that team. Pursuant to our policy, 4th graders as of Fall 2009 are not eligible for the 5th grade team. Each team established will have 10 players, therefore, tryouts are necessary. Our program will not create more than one travel team per grade. There will be a charge for participating in the travel program, which is in addition to our intramural program fee. The fee will be determined annually based on the costs to run this program, but on average it has been $100.00. If players are not interested in trying out for our travel program, please remember to sign up in the fall for our intramural program.
