St. Joseph’s
CYO Travel Basketball Program is established to offer a basketball
option for the advanced player. This program is more intense and
competitive than our intramural program and requires practices in
order to prepare for scheduled games. The travel program is associated
with Nassau/Suffolk CYO and complies with all of its rules and regulations.
Games are played against other Nassau/Suffolk CYO programs in our
region and declared skill level (either A, B or C).
The travel basketball program is a compliment to our intramural
program and is not intended to erode the integrity or quality of
it. In order to be eligible to participate in the travel program,
each player must have participated in the intramural program in
the previous year. It is further required that those participating
in the travel program also participate in the intramural program.
If it deemed that a team in the travel program has a material adverse
affect to the intramural program, the governing board will review
the continuation of that team.
Each team established will have between 10 – 12 players, therefore,
tryouts may be necessary. There will be a charge for participating
in this program, which is separate from the intramural program fee.
The fee will be determined annually based on the costs to run this
program.
