The St. Joseph's CYO 5th & 6th grade program is intending
to introduce new players to the sport and further develop the
skills of the returning participants. It is also attempting to
continue on the concept of team play. Each player is evaluated
on the first night of the program and teams are selected accordingly
to afford the most equal and fair level of play possible. There
will be attempts to accommodate all requested on enrollment forms,
but no guarantees will be made.
Every participant receives a reversible basketball jersey and
a trophy. The trophy received is either 1st place, 2nd place,
3rd place or participatory, which depends on the success of the
team and the number of teams in the program. The place trophies
are determined through a single game, single elimination play-off
system. Every team makes the play-offs and the bracketing is based
on the regular season standings.
